From all the rumours which we have heard about the Xiaomi Mi 5 till now, the device was speculated to be coming with Qualcomm Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner but not anymore.
Analyst, Pan Jiutang shared some details about the fingerprint scanner of Xiaomi Mi 5 today on Weibo. According to him, the fingerprint scanner on Xiaomi Mi 5 will be a basic one instead of the rumoured Qualcomm’s Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanner based on Qualcomm Sense ID. Currently, LeTV Max Pro is the only device launched with Snapdragon 820 and Qualcomm Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner.
Pan Jiutang further added that Xiaomi has another device in the works which we will be equipped with the Qualcomm Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and Xiaomi will be releasing that unnamed in second half of 2016. No other information was shared about this unnamed device.
Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to be launched in February after the Spring Festival in China and has already entered the mass production, reportedly.
