Apple’s upcoming 4-incher might be called “iPhone 5e” after all

Last month, we heard a lot of rumours about Apple’s upcoming 4-incher which we initially called, iPhone 7c and then iPhone 6c. Now, there are reports coming in from the Digi.tech.qq which say that it is going to be the “iPhone 5e” instead, where the “e” will represent the enhanced version of iPhone 5s.

Earlier reports suggested that this 4-incher will come with Apple’s A9 processor. But today’s report claims that this alleged iPhone 5e will be equipped with the A8 processor which will be coupled with 1GB of RAM due to some pricing constraints. Features, this enhanced version of iPhone 5s will be carrying, are Apple Pay, NFC and VoLTE. Moreover, Apple will give only two storage options with this device, 16GB and 64GB. The report also says that iPhone 5e is expected to be priced at 3288 yuan (around $500), presumably, for the 16GB model when the iPhone 5s is currently being sold for $300-$350 in many markets.

According to another report, iPhone 5e will be the first device running on iOS 9.3, as we are expecting, and will be unveiled in the anticipated March event. We might also see a new Apple Watch in that event.

Source updated and some corrections were made. The report originally comes from from Digi.tech.qq instead of Mydrivers.
